Don’t be Duped

Duped. No one imagines they are. But let’s face it, lots of people are duped. We fall for slick advertisements, and end up with buyer’s regret. The news has plenty of stories uncovering deceptions in the realms of business, politics, and entertainment.

The greatest need to discern truth from lies is in the realm of spiritual claims. Many who say they’re speaking for God are, in fact, liars. This is nothing new. Within the same century in which Jesus came, already false teaching was slipping in among God’s people, undetected. In 1 John 4:1-7, the apostle John writes to caution us how to discern truth from error. It’s not always easy. But it’s always worth it. Listen on!
